Marine Corps Veteran who began formal Shotokan Karate at ASU with Sensei Shojiro Koyama in April of 1969. Founded Arizona Shotokan Karate (ASK) in January of 1973 which has now been offering classes in the City of Glendale for 50 years!

Nanadan (7th Dan)
Started training with the original JKA in 1968. AAU National Karate Team member and traveled the world as a Competitor, Referee, and Coach. Enjoys the art of Japanese Calligraphy with his work displayed on this site and in Japanese Restaurants in Phoenix and Chicago.

Started Thai Fighting and Kickboxing out of High School and Shotokan Karate while dating his now wife also a Black Belt in Karate & Taekwondo. GCC and ASU Graduate in Computer Science
