The Tonto Apache Recreation Center, in Payson, Arizona was the site of the 2010 Summer Karate Training Camp on July 9, 10 & 11.  The camp, sponsored by Arizona Shotokan Karate, was held over two days with four training sessions. 

     Malcolm Dorfman, 8th Dan was the camp’s Special Guest Instructor.  Mr Dorfman is the Assistant Chief Instructor of Karatenomichi World Federation and the Chief Instructor of KWF South Africa. 

     The training began on Friday night the 9th.  On Saturday the 10th there were two training sessions.  After the first session, a Dan Examination was held.  Three members, Scott Bartel, John Clayton and Terry Maxon passed to the rank of Nidan.  Saturday evening the camp dinner was held at the Cedar Ridge Restaurant. 

     On Sunday morning, the 11th, the fourth training session was held, after which camp was officially over.  Although, a good size group of campers remained in Payson, at Famous Sam’s, to watch the World Cup Finals.
